Wow, what an incredible few days we had in London last week! For those following us on social media (and why wouldn’t you be!), you’ll already have some idea of what has been going on at Dr Malaika Clinics HQ. The Andover Advertiser also alluded to this with an article last week!

And now we can finally shout about it from the rooftops!

Lip Genius®

Lip Genius and Safer Practice has officially launched at The Royal Society of Medicine. We were so honoured to be invited and have our very own Dr Malaika speak as the medical expert at this event!

With a huge increase in cases of botched non-invasive cosmetic procedures, safer aesthetics practices are at the forefront of current news, and a priority at Dr Malaika Clinics. Lip Genius® is a revolutionary safer lip injection technique that we have been using in all our clinics for the last year. It hugely reduces complications that are often associated with this procedure; simple as that.

Licensing

The Government has confirmed an intention to introduce licensing for non-surgical cosmetic procedures including Botox and fillers. Health and Social Care Secretary Sajid Javid said: “While most of those in the aesthetics industry follow good practice when it comes to patient safety, far too many people have been left emotionally and physically scarred after botched cosmetic procedures.
“I am committed to protecting patient safety by making it an offence for someone to perform these cosmetic procedures without a licence.”

In light of the increased risks patients are being exposed to, we at Dr Malaika Clinics feel it is now more important than ever to ensure patient safety as much as possible. To have the opportunity to be taking an active part in changing the industry from the inside and be a driving force in pushing for safer practices, is an absolute honour.
